This short fanfare is said to have been written by Gottfried Reiche, J.S. Bach’s chief Trumpeter. While is it very short, it is also challenging and shows off the trumpet capabilities wonderfully. Although it’s probably best suited to the Piccolo Trumpet in A, I have also included a version for Bb Trumpet. Because this fanfare is unaccompanied, the main difference is that it is in a more suitable key for Bb Trumpet, and avoids the need for the Low F.

This piece is only about 30 seconds in duration.
